I just picked up a new batch of White Alumilite 2 part resin. I have to say, that I'm pretty impressed with the new Part B stuff. You don't have to shake the Part B, which aids in lessening the amount of air bubbles, but also, the Part B is considerably less viscous.
Mixed together, I have noticed due to the lessened viscosity, that it flows into the molds much easier, and being clear, allows easy inspection and removal of air bubbles by using a toothpick, if you are pouring one part molds.
After the material dries I also noticed a greater ductility in the poured pieces compared to the old stuff, which usually hardened to a peanut brittle consistency.
Curing time is increased, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you prefer.
I know there are other resins out there that GK'ers and others use, but I have stuck with Alumilite, mainly for the reason it is carried locally by my hobby shop. I haven't experimenting with paint adhesion yet.
