what paint for airbrush
Hello all, i am looking at a cheaper than rattlecan option for base coats of paint, my only model paint options in Perth are tamiya or testors. i like the tamiya for the water clean up properties, however for $4.00 for a 30ml jar it isnt cheap when doing some of the bigger kits. what could i use tha...

2 year old Acreation decals
Hi All,
i have a set of Acreations NX01 1/350 decals i bought 2 years ago, they have been kept flat and have stayed in the original packaging in a dark environment.
i am about a week away from using them and wonder if there is anything i should do to them prior to application.
thanks in advance

drilling for FO strands
Hi all,
what method do you use for drilling holes for FO strands?
i have a rotary tool but i am pretty sure the RPM's in this will get the drill bits too hot and then melt.
i remember when i built the Enterprise D with FO the kit came with a battery operated drill.

1st off you can cut the windows out and then fill them with micro Krystal Klear, goes on white dries clear As for the 10mm LEds get the widest angle, then use some reflective materiel on the inside to ahh reflect Yes you use 30g wire for the LEDs and for resistors, but I always use a thicker wire fo...

Wait I think the strips are meant to run at 12 volts, and everything else needs 9, the voltage regulator is the simple way to go and is all you need. Check it in use though they tend to get hot, inside the model that heat build up will cause yellowing of decals and paint and softening of plastic if...

Stepping down voltage
I have a question about voltage I have designed and built a lighting setup for the PL 1/350 NX01 all in 9v, but I am using the Easy LED strips for the nacelles that although work on 9v they are much brighter at 12v Is there any way of running it at 12v but using something to step it to 9v for the ex...

Hi and welcome back. So the Aztec decals you can get from Acreation models, very nice work, the seller is Talon on this board. He had some production issues but has been back up for about 5 weeks now. As for the light kit, great product, but they are seriously busy and it could take up to 8 weeks to...

I have been building light kits into all my models of late but I always have the problem that the wires are too big and as such I can't use the wire wrap tool I bought, so I do it by hand which sucks. I bought the madman deluxe spinner which came with some really fine wire which works great in the w...

What was the controller going to do? Make you coffee? Perhaps make it fly?
Seriously unless you want flashing lights and fading effects that basic circuit should only be $50 max

Rattle cans for the majority, BUT... I decant the rattle can paint and air brush it. I buy cheapo rattle can paint $3.50 here and get the equivalent of 10-15 tinlets of paint which cost $3.50 each - huge savings! Decanting the paint and airbrushing - better control of paint flow. Smoother and thinn...
