I made one ages ago but I hardly use it as my basement sucks (water problems). It needs a bigger fan too since the small squirrel cage doesn't seem to have the power. The floor of the booth is hardware cloth and the sides are heavy plastic. I may redo it this summer as I plan on making a closed off ...

I was in need of a small sanding drum type tool, my dremel was unavailable and I didn't feel like digging it out. I scrounged around my work area and found: (1) 12V DC motor (1) 6V DC wall wart (1) push button a dead USB hub on/off knob from a broker set of pc speakers electrical tape assorted grit ...

I used it a long time ago. I probably wasn't doing it right I guess since some of the things I ended up with were very bubbly. Of course if I had some good scales to measure with it might have worked better. It does give off heat as I remember I got a slight burn from it. Most of what I had ended up...

I just found you can get Aerogel at Unitednuclear plus radioactive ores.Chacal wrote:Best-and-impracticable idea: Aerogel. Too bad you have to pay an arm and a leg to get a sliver of it. But hey, if you've got the money, and you need just a small piece (say for a 1/72 engine)...

Sparks. Intermittent power loss. Power fluctuation. Basically, sharp random light flickers to random ramp up/ramp down lighting. That'd do it for me. Even better if I didn't have to know how to program a chip. I'm going to use the LEDs from some votive candles I picked up at Big Lots, 4 for $3 and ...
