I made one ages ago but I hardly use it as my basement sucks (water problems). It needs a bigger fan too since the small squirrel cage doesn't seem to have the power. The floor of the booth is hardware cloth and the sides are heavy plastic. I may redo it this summer as I plan on making a closed off ...

I was in need of a small sanding drum type tool, my dremel was unavailable and I didn't feel like digging it out. I scrounged around my work area and found: (1) 12V DC motor (1) 6V DC wall wart (1) push button a dead USB hub on/off knob from a broker set of pc speakers electrical tape assorted grit ...

I used it a long time ago. I probably wasn't doing it right I guess since some of the things I ended up with were very bubbly. Of course if I had some good scales to measure with it might have worked better. It does give off heat as I remember I got a slight burn from it. Most of what I had ended up...

If you want a small reversible geared motor, just find an old video camera! There are small ones that drive the focus and zoom on them, Run at lower power to get the right speed.

I'm sure if you have hover technology you have some way to overcome recoil. I have someplace packed away an old WWII 1/72? scale tank I was converting to hover ages ago. I might be able to dig it out to finish it.

Sparks. Intermittent power loss. Power fluctuation. Basically, sharp random light flickers to random ramp up/ramp down lighting. That'd do it for me. I've had no problems with them, the package is usually marked as sample and looks like it cost almost as much as the LEDs. Plus resistors to run them on 12v. They ship pretty fast too considering small packs are free shipping.
