You are not going to believe this. I went to my local hobby store and asked for Tamiya Primer. They did not have white in stock so I asked when they could get some in. They checked and said Tamiya sent out an anouncement that they were reviewing their paint chemicals against US import laws and it wo...

Thanks for the additional feedback everyone. This is exactly what I was hoping for to prevent my making a mistake. I may have to rethink the fusion and go with Tamya White primer instead. The good news is I have not applied the fusion to anything on the real model as yet. Only some test pieces. What...

Krylon Fusion over Mr. Surfacer Will it work?
So I am working on my refit and I have decided to use White Krylon Fusion for Plastic as my base coat. (This way I can do the searchlight effects from inside.) Here's my question: In a few spots I have already used Mr. Surfacer 1000 (DuPont 131S primer.) as the primer. Can I spray the Krylon Fusion ...

Mr Surfacer over paint - Is this a problem?
I have 2 questions: 1) If I have painted a piece with enamel paint can I airbrush Mr. Surfacer over the enamel paint. (I have some lightblocked areas that once glued in place would get oversprayed as part of the general mr surfacer coat.) 2) The same question BUT in this case the undercoat i.e. firs...

Thanks everyone. I tried a few experiments and my best result came from using a brand I found at Michaels under the brand name EasyCast Clear casting epoxy. It is a 1 to 1 mix and although low viscosity(nicely lets the bubbles out and is not prone to form bubbles) it has enough to stay in the small ...

How do you polish clear epoxy filled windows
Ok, On my refit I am trying the trick of filling the small windows witha very clear epoxy. If you use no tape on the outside you end up with a slight dome that needs to be sanded/polished down. If you put scotch tape across the outside you have a nice flat surface, but the adhesive leaves enough rou...

Possible LED source ?
Has anyone bought from the LEDshoppe? Their prices seem to be good and I am considering using them for my E.
