I read the first page and have bookmarked it. If I may be so bold, I found the color of the font to be uncomfortable to look at. Do what you want with that opinion.

Re: LED flexible filament
Now the real challenge is finding a tubing that is clear that I can run the filament through to achieve rigidity. I am thinking a ball point pen ink tube. So far all I have are a bit to small. I suppose I can bore it out with a 2mm drill bit. Also thinking of using conductive epoxy or glue instead ...

Re: Looking for a (Simple) LED Flasher Circuit
Hello Braintrust! Does anyone know of a (simple) circuit for blinking two (or more) LEDs on and off at the same time? I know I could do this with an Arduino, but in this case I’m hoping to avoid the expense. Any help would be appreciated! -Tc How about you buy a flashing LED and run a few regular L...

Re: Looking for a (Simple) LED Flasher Circuit
I read somewhere, a few years back, that the voltage drop across the 555 timer is 1.7 volts. So you realyy need 5 volts to run the average 3mm LED. Several colors require 3.3 volts, although some colors, less.

What glue for mounting SMDs to styrene
I am trying to mount 0805 SMDs in a 1/1000 refit for navigation and strobe lights. What can I use on the lens (lighted surface) of the SMD without damaging or obscuring it? Btw, I tried canopy glue and it wouldn't hold.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Bendable EL Wire
Not high voltage if an arduino is lighting it up. video shows it plugging into one. That would be 3 or 5,5 volts depending on the arduino model.

I've already used a trim pot in one of my models to adjust brightness. Works like a charm. I plan to keep doing it.

probably an easier way with your meter than this, but hook them up to a variable resistor/ trim pot and gradually turn up the juice until the LED lights up.

Re: Looking for a 3 LED Flashing Circuit
If you are comfortable with wiring in parallel, that's the way to go. Your wiring a resistor and LED in parallel should be fine. You'll need about 5 volts for the parallel version if using a 555 timer as the voltage drop is 1.7 volts with the timer, leaving 3.3 volts for the LEDs.

Jerry at HDA Modelworx has requested his factory to custom make flickering 0805 SMDs. AFAIK, nobody else has these. He's sent me red, blue, yellow, green, white, and warm white flickering SMDs and these are pretty cool. My mind is working on what I could use these on. These are neat. My mind says d...

How wide is the stand between model and base? I would think a long piece of shrink tube would coral your wires and fit nicely down a hollow stand and be flexible.

Failing that, you could use a small breadboard, 170 points/ties at a size:1.85*1.38*0.33inches.
I kept thinking and how about this? https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12702
A solder-able breadboard.
