Curious as to how guys proceed with this. This is in regards to loose strands, from two or three strands to, say 50. Do you just stuff them in to a tube, straw, cut pipe? Simon Merks just mentioned doing this on his current 350 build. He uses the gels to diffuse LED strip in the nacelles. So yes, you can glue them in on top of the grills on the inside of the engines.

Boyd at Trekworks has a great method injecting canopy glue into the windows and simply wiping any excess off. His builds look great and lighting sweet.

I've never tried this before but I think your answer lays with the final clear coat you put over them. I'm thinking you'll need to remove the top clear coat layer first then try gently pulling the decals up with a low tack tape so as to not lift up and damage the paint job on the base coat.

Oh' by the way I could, and most likely am, wrong about the mA thing and the circuits the NAV's and strobes pull.

Just a guess but are you running sufficient mA through the window circuit? If the NAV and strobes are running and the impulse engines light it tells me the circuits are drawing more mA to get their LED's to pulse leaving enough for the red LED's for the impulse engines to fire but none for the windo...
