Re: Making decals
Simple question. Why is Laserjet better than Inkjet? In a recent live show on Flory Models Phil says the opposite. In this aspect of my question I'd be interested in the reasons why by comparison. His mentioning this is the inspiration for my curiosity. I wanted the take on this topic from members h...

Re: Has Ambroid disappeared?
Picked up the Flex I File at Hobby Lobby with their 40%off coupon as DaveVan suggested. $5.20 with Suffolk County's .08625 tax rate. In a twist of fate my LHS is in the same shopping center so I cruised on in and picked up Tamiya's new P-38F/G Lightning. Tamiya has upped their bar on this kit if any...

Has Ambroid disappeared?
As the thread reads.
Haven't seen this at my local hobby shop lately and online searches lead to Same Stuff from MicroMart. Anybody know what happened here?
Besides Tanex as a slightly more aggressive alternative ant other alternatives you guys like?

In search of a variable rate strobe circuit
Before I go out and purchase all the components to make one myself, like the one from All Electronics ( which isn't variable) does anybody know of a single chip that lights up only 1 white LED with a variable rate pot? Years ago I had seen one but have long forgotten the LED shop that sold it. Thank...

This should satisfy your hunger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgqvkrxHmxs The kits rice bulbs were switched out for LED's. The servo operating the canopy was a very ingenious idea added on by millennium falsehood. There actually are plenty of these kits completed that are out there. Like most bui...

With all due respect boys what I think Adam is asking for is the effect for making scratched steel, not chipping which everyone is telling him. A look like this: http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx229/Iluvmlb/scratchedsteel_zps35945089.jpg Salt, Maskol, Liquid Mask, hair spray alone with the right...

Bundling fiber optic
Curious as to how guys proceed with this. This is in regards to loose strands, from two or three strands to, say 50. Do you just stuff them in to a tube, straw, cut pipe? Hot glue, white glue them in said tube so they don't pop out? Use shrink wrap around the LED or just electrical tape? Do you let ...

Hey Vamp, first you need to post a link to an image provider like Photobucket or Shutterfly. Bandwidth regulations and all. Posted images like this will be removed by moderators. To answer your question use the 5 minute epoxy and clamps. Start at one section, let it harden, move on to the next. A bi...

Figgy you'll need a corresponding jack for the plug end of your wall wart (power supply) I know the jacks I use have three prongs for connecting wires sticking out the back end. You'll need to figure out which prong is which, meaning one will be for positive, another for negative, and usually the mi...

Elmers glue for anything up to about 1/4 inch, and once it's dry, a drop of clear enamel for gloss. And it's easy. Once the model is painted, get a drop of glue on the end of a toothpick and twirl it into the opening and move on to the next one. Let it dry thoroughly- maybe a couple of days until t...

Just a guess but are you running sufficient mA through the window circuit? If the NAV and strobes are running and the impulse engines light it tells me the circuits are drawing more mA to get their LED's to pulse leaving enough for the red LED's for the impulse engines to fire but none for the windo...
