Lighting up a Revell TOS Viper helmet

Post by Joseph Osborn »

Anybody tried anything like this?

I roughened the fibers to diffuse the light coming through them.

Sorry for the blurry pics; slow shutter speed and holding everything by hand.
My alternative is to cast a clear head/helmet and directly light it with a small LED.

The kit helmet is not very accurate-looking; would this lighting technique work okay with the MMI Viper pilot figures, assuming I opened up some holes through the resin body to run the fibers? 'Cause I'd really like to use the female pilot figure.

Any feedback welcome :)

looks good, a clear cast head would be easier on folks not so good with a drill.

Looks real good, there.

Might introduce terminal eyestrain for some of us to try this....
